Sensitization testing and hazard assessment using functional genomics with GARD


One seminar, given at three occasions for the EU, Asian and US markets.
The presentation will give insight into the latest in vitro technology using human cell lines and genomics for skin and respiratory sensitization, potency classification CLP 1A and 1B of skin sensitizers and with ability to test complex mixtures. A thorough explanation of the GARD technology, how it compares to other in vitro skin sensitization assays and how it is a highly reliable method for safety assessment, all industries. Sensitization testing based on functional genomics.
The presentation will cover:

· Development of the genomic-based GARD test.  The only test with an accuracy over 90% and how it compares to other in vivo and in vitro skin sensitization assays

· Results from the ring trial and the report leading to the formal OECD and ECVAM validation - How the test proves robust, highly transferable and with highest overall accuracy

· The inclusion of the add-on, in vitro, potency assessment for skin sensitizers CLP classification 1A and 1B

· Gene mapping – what genes are in the assay, why so many and how are they relevant for sensitization?

· Why GARD has such broad applicability domain including pre-/ pro haptens and mixtures
